Abstract

저자는 Dilantin을 장기간 복용하고 있는 환자 42명을 대상으로 치과방사선학적 연구를
하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다.
1) 성별 및 연령 분포는 남자가 26명으로 여자보다 많았으며, 10대가 16명 (38%)으로 가
장 많았다.
2) 하악골 피질판의 폭경은 우각부와 골체부에서 계측시 대조군보다 이환군에서 다소 얇
았다(P<0.05).
3) 치조백선의 폭경은 이환군과 대조군에서 차이가 없었다.
4) 치근의 길이는 이환군에서 전반적으로 짧게 나타났으나 통계학적으로 유의성을 보인
치아는 상하악 중절치와 제 2고구치였다(P<0.05).
5) 방사선 사진에서 전반적인 하악골의 골변화를 보인 환자는 8명 (19%)이었으며 이들의
평균 연령은 18.37세로 이환군의 평균 연령 (23세) 보다 낮아 젊은 층에서 골 변화가 많이
나타나는 것을 볼 수 있었으며, 또한 이들의 약물 복용 기간은 평균 4.3년으로 이환군 전체
의 평균 복용 기간(5.59년)보다 짧았다.
6) Dilantin에 의한 골연화증에서 치조 백선의 변화보다는 하치조관벽과 하악골 하연의 피
질판의 변화가 많이 나타났다.

Radiographic measurements on the width of mandibular cortical Plate and the lamina
dura and on the root length were done in 42 patients who were in long-term Dilantin
medication.
Osteoporosis and root abnormalities were also investigated.
The obtained results were as follows :
1. The number of male patients was greater than that of female patients.
2. The width of mandibular cortical plate was thinner in patient group than in control
group.
3. There was no significant change in the width of lamina durrs between the patient
group and control group.
4. the root length of patient group was generally shorter than that of control group.
5. There were evidences of generalized mandibular osteoporosis and alteration in
mandibular canal wall in 8 patients. (19%)
6. In Dilantin induced osteomalacia, the radiographic changes of mandibular canal wall
and mandibular cortical plate were prominent, but that of lamina dura was not
significant.
